  • Progressive side bets: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly have one of these. You generally place a wager (a dollar is the usual value) to try to win a side jackpot that could reach $25,000. Although huge jackpots like these are extremely tempting, they’re also particularly hard to win. You would have to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and put the side wager each time. That is $20 you should have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds employing that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the complete house edge from 2percent with one zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The one number wager has just a 1 in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets as a substitute which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you wager on it, the house edge can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that is not a error. Due to the huge set of numbers you have to choose, it’s not advisable to play Keno to often. A number of times for fun, perhaps. But do not waste all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself bankrupt.
